just wanted to clarify any suspicions as regarding Imam Ash'ari's aqida...

kitab al-ibanah is a book ascribed to Imam al-Ash'ari as a represenation of his conversion to the 'true' aqida of ahl al-sunna w'al jama'a - that propagated by Shaykh Ahmad ibn Taymiyya. While the true scholars of ahl-al sunna found errors in the aqida of ibn Taymiyya, they also find dubious the claims that this book was in fact his final book before his death, and even whether he wrote the book at all (which would disprove the claims of the salafiyyah that Imam Ashari returned to their aqida before the end of his life)...
