JazakAllah akhi, from this it would seem monopoly is permissible. But is it true dice have been prohibited, specifically?

On the basis of these Ahaadith and numerous others like them, the Fuqahaa (jurists) have derived a few principles:
    1. Every game associated with gambling is prohibited.
    2. Any pastime that is the object of such engrossment that induces
negligence or laxity towards Deeni obligations is prohibited.
    3. All amusements and pastimes having no worldly or spiritual benefits are
    prohibited.

The Prophet (Sallallâhu alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said: "He who plays with dice is like the one who handles the flesh and blood of swine."(Muslim, Abu Dawood, Ahmad)

    assalamu alaikum wr wb

if you play the dice and there is money involved in it then it makes it haram same would go for any games that you play where you bet or wager out money or a certain amount of something like you play this game and you win you get this, you lose you lose this etc.. then that would be haram yet if you play an innocent game of cards where there is no money involved in it whatsoever even though you are totally winning the game and could make tons of cash on it, and you're playing without that then its halal to play but even for dice you can use that yet when it involves money real money that is then it makes it gambling and chance and one should avoid.

Speaking of that: would the games at amusement parks be considered haram then? since it is sort of games of chance, you are giving a certain amount of money to take a chance to play and then attempt to win the prize even though its not guranteed the prize that you will win or not and that you are supposedly already paying for the prize too?

Well dice in itself is not haram (playing with it)
But obviously if used for haram things then its not allowed..But that doesnt still make the dice haram...
    Dice is notharam

Dice does not necessarily mean those cubes with dots on. There is a game called dice which was popular in jahil times. Think of something like craps now.

mainly all these games usually comes with gambling thats why it was haram but if it doesnt have money gambling involved or gambling period like i win you give me 5 chocolate pieces or if you lose you give me 10 pieces of candy etc.. then it should be wrong but if it doesnt have that then it should be ok.....

    Allahu Alim

you're right its not about the dice itself as haram but the gambling that comes within it.
for example we are told that playing cards is haram cuz it involves gambling and im like what if you play kiddy games like uno? crazy eights? old maid? snap? war? etc... where these games dont have money gambling involved in it whatsoever just for fun then its halal yet if you end up playing these games or any games where money is involved and you're taking a chance at winning or whatever then its considered wrong, that's like betting on a basketball game or race car driving race or horse racing race, if you bet on it you are takin a chance and gambling which would be wrong rather than you just watching it and not betting on it with money..

    Allahu Alim
