Jamia Ashrafia in Lahore was founded by Mufti Muhammad Hasan Amritsari rahimullah, who was a khalifa of Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi rahimullah. I believe Mufti Taqi Usmani studied there as well.

Its really an excellent, and according to the people one of the more "middle-grounded" and "moderate", madressahs in the Sub-Continent.

I visited it a number of times when I went to Pakistan to sit in the gatherings of Shaykhul Hadith Sufi Sarwar Sahib.

Do these madrassas impart modern education to those dependent on such like institutions cz i have a feeling that those students who rely only on religious education from some islamic institution face xtreme difficulty in getting some reasonable jobs at a later stage. My observation may b wrong, someone 2 correct me n comment upon plz
