I know these may be basic, but I wanted to ask them anyhow.

1. Some people claim that Sufism was influenced by Hindu Philosophy, and other say it's from Buddhism. How do we establish this?

2. Some people say that Sufi's ultimate goal is to attain Godhead, but from my understanding this is not true. Can someone explain this aspect to me?

3. Whenever you read about Sufism online, usually from orientalist websites, they say one of the goals is to get direction perception of spiritual truth of God. Is this a far fetched notion?

4. Certain Shaykhs who don't oppose it, but aren't totally for it, say that Sufis reject hadith and try to base their knowledge on their own divine inspirations. Is this something that is common among the prominent Sufis who followed the Book and Sunnah?
