no. are these people medically trained?

i work in the health profession, and i can safely say that although it may be beneficial, there are millions of other remedies out there which does not justify one resorting to wine.

from my experience, time and natural remedies are the best healers for those symptoms in the vast majority of cases.

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Don't do it, Bruv! And, stop those around you!

If you have a bad cough, go to your pharmacist and ask for their advice.
Say Bismillah before you swallow the medicine.
    Honey and Lemon works wonders
    Cough spray
    Cough Decongestants

    But, No Whiskey!

Allah knows best for there is good and bad in Alcohol but the bad outweighs the good. Plus, this one should be the clincher...
it is impermissble to drink Alcohol.

Come on all you fellow Doctors/Pharmacists, practical advice for the brother please!!

    Walaikum salaam

They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance. Say: In both of them there is a great sin and means of profit for men, and their sin is greater than their profit. And they ask you as to what they should spend. Say: What you can spare. Thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, that you may ponder

That's interesting, I've never seen "al-ayat" translated as "communications", which translation is that?

you are right - i didn't notice that.... also - profit (manaafi') - most translations use 'benefit' rather than profit.

its by 'M.H. Shakir' - available online.
