WOuld it be permissible for a woman to study abroad? She'll travel with a mahram and after they have arrived, the mahram will go away and she'll remain alone for some months..?

I think i got the the answer, but its maybe a little unclear because i dont get the bolded part, but i think its cleared up in the latter part. I also dont know if you can use this fatwa as an answer for my question. I guess the answer is: yes its permissible? (just to make sure)

It is stated in contemporary fataawa of mufti taqi usmani on page 199. The question was regarding some muslim women and young girls taking up residence in other countries to pursue a career in modern education. The answer was:

a muslim woman is not permitted to travel alone without a Mahram to non-muslim countries whether i be for employment or education. Similarly, it is also impermissible to stay there. But, if a woman had travelled to some non-Muslim country with her Mahram and had taken up residence there as a citizin but later either the Mahram of this woman died there or for somne reason that mahram travelled away from there to some other place and that woman was left all alone, then in this situation, there is no problem if this woman were to stay there alone

    assalamu alaikum wr wb

these days women shouldnt be complaining about having a mahram accompany them on a long journey... especially when there are muslims being treated in an unjustly manner..especially when you're travelling abroad and flying.. you get into all sorts of hassle and trouble, its really good to have someone there to help you out through certain issues and situations... like you try to explain something yet they dont get it, or they need verification.. so your mahram can help convince them etc...

also gets tons of desperatos off your back...cuz they'll see you with the mahram and go...'ahh... she's taken..ok..'

Ummibi you are rught to a certain point. But now its become so bad that people dont care about a man being with you or not. But yeah it does make a bit of a difference.

There is no problem if a sister travels abroad with a mahram and is then dropped off in a sisters-only environment for study, according to Mufti Yusuf Mullan.

    Allah knows best.
