When I was pregnant I downloaded some freely distributed booklets suggested for Muslim motehrs to read to their children. One was titled "These are Baba's Feet" or something, and taught Muslims children about parts of the body from a Muslim perspective.
Some of the things they mentioned I haven'T read anywhere else. In particular, this booklet taught children that everyday things which mothers do have huge rewards in heaven - every time they breastfeed, it is equal to so-an-so, and every time they stay awake through the night to tend to their sick child, it is equal to so-and-so (I can'T remember the good deeds, but they were big ones like Umrah and reading the entire Quran from start to finish, etc.
Were all these just sweet stories, or does anybody know if they have basis in any Hadith? I think one of them - housework being equal to jihad - had basis in a hadith because some of the sisters have also mentioned it. But how about breastfeeding, losing sleep, and so on?
