This is a spin-off of the Prayer behind an imam who shaves thread:
Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Rahim
As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Having noticed A LOT of our Turkish brothers having "strange" understandings of what is the position of the Hanafi madhhab (on various Salat related issues and on the beard) I wanted to start this thread.
Could some of our brothers, who are students of knowledge, shed some light on the issue? I mean, is the Hanafi fiqh being taught in Turkey, representative of the mu'tamid positions in the Hanafi madhhab?
Some times I feel like the Turks I knoe are on a "kemalized"[1] Hanafi madhhab.
Fi Amanillah. Was-salam.

[1] For those who do not know, Mustafa Kemal "Atatürk" was responsible for dismantling the 'Uthmani (Osmanli) caliphate and introduced secularism into what is now modern Turkey. Kemalism refers to his "secular, anti-Islamic, distortions of Turkish society (he even tried to exchange the Arabic adhan with a Turkish one).
