    Default A poem by me

    assalamu alaikum

My troubles have accumulated and peace has depreciated
With nothing to put a smile on my face
And nothing to pull me out of this deep hole
I let my tears falls down, all the way down, down to the ground
I cry my tired eyes out repeatedly in distress
Knowing that these were tears of sorrow, tears of pain
I realize that something meaingful is missing
Something of comfort, of great incitement
Then I see it clearly in my heart
That what I need is a long, meaningful sajdah
Where I can see a lingering glow and endless hope
A sajdah where I can be close to Allah
And ask for the guidance, the love, and the patience
That I need to carry on and reassure myself
This sajdah, oh so relieving, is a gift from Allah
And this gift from our Lord, we must learn to cherish

    Salaams sister,

A beautiful poem and a true one. Ma sha Allah! Don't lose hope, though. I wrote this poem myself, insha Allah, in answer to this question:

There is Also Love in the World

‘My friend, I know not your name,
though I have seen your downcast eyes before:
    full of sorrow,
    brought low through despair
    and a heavy load.
My friend, I do not have all that you desire
or know all that is needed.
I have but one gift to give,
    which I offer freely,
a single balm to soothe your many pains:
there is also Love in the world.
    Though a cloud of despair
    hangs over your head
and lays heavily upon your shoulders, remember:
there is also Love in the world.
And, though for a time your Path has narrowed
and filled with rocks, jagged and sharp,
if you hold on a little longer
you will see the times changed
    and your days refreshed.
For there is also Love in the world.
You were not born to be a slave.
You were born free under God.
    You were made in Love
and God’s Love does not change.
Even in the darkest night, remember:
there is also Love in the world’.

    Ma'as salama,
    Abdur Rahman
