I still don't understand that website. It's a great source, but it has no information on the actual Darul Uloom.

I phoned Daruloom Bury for prospectus and they were like 'its a 6 year Alim course, dont need prospectus ' or something like that (forgot what he said exactly...think its 6 yrs)

Anyway I found it helpful to visit www.idauk.org. This is in Leicster and it has a syllabus which shows what will be taught . I found it more helpful. Although it may differ I think it will be similar.

I intend to send my son age 10 to study hifz. Would appreciate if anyone can give suggestion as to the best school in any part of the world for him to study. would prefer Shafie's school.

Going from my own experience, i would say if you want to do Hifz go to Darul-Uloom.

I started Hifz about a year ago and have only done 3 para's. I believe this is because of school. I receive about 4 homework's per day (usually in for the next day) and various exams have taken up a few months. This has interrupted my Hifz and i really need to go over what i've already learnt in order not to forget it.

But if you are sure you have enough time to do Hifz properly (i would say spend at least 2 hours per day) whilst attending school/doing what ever you do, do it locally.

If you think you wouldn't have enough time do do Hifz properly i suggest going to Darul-Uloom for a couple of years.
