Become a Loan Saint
Have extra money? Have extra property?
Put it to good use by loaning it out to Muslim FAMILIES in need for free. $10,000 could mean the world for a struggling family. Allowing a family to live on a property for a few months while they are in transition could be the only thing between them and the STREETS.
Target FAMILIES and not so much INDIVIDUALS, because it s the families that are the bedrock of the community and of course a multitude of people is priority over 1 person. Many times an individual can get by during their hard times and many times its due to their severe irresponsibility. Families are often doing all that they can but just cannot make it. Thats double the reason for targeting families especially. I don't mean to say individuals don't need help too, especially converts, so don't forget them altogether.
Make a contract. Whether it is a LOAN or giving someone a TEMPORARY RESIDENCE, make a contract. The Quran commands you to make a contract, and also establish a witness. This is a Divine Wisdom. Noone wants their name ruined socially so this is a pressure to uphold the contract and also makes it legally binding and relieves any doubt of fabrication.
People NEED LOANS and TEMPORARY HOUSING, or you can call it transitional housing. Lets say you have a small business and its doing ok and you save some money and try to open a restaurant. Your first business happens to die out and your restaurant turns out to be mediocre. You have spent so much to try to make it work and depleted your funds. You have no back-up income. You can't pay bills, you lose your home. This kind of thing is a reality for many people. They NEED loans, not with a bunch of interest on top, but just money they can payback SLOWLY. They may need TEMPORARY HOUSING until they can get on their feet a little and find a place to go.
If you have the means then spend it in the way of Allah. If you can give then give. If you can loan then do so under contract. HELP.
