Default Dar al Uloom al Madania & Urdu? Any Dars-e Nizami Style Shafi'i Madaaris?

    As salaamu 'alaykum,
I need to know more about the dar ul uloom in Buffaloe NY?

1.) Is it a prerequisite to know Urdu in order to study their or is arabic and/or english enough to get in there.

2.) And, do they usually respond to online applications or is it better to visit in person or call when you want to apply.

3.) Lastly, is this the best Dar al Uloom in the US and also, how does it rank in comparison to Dar al Uloom in England (Bury, or Leicester (I don't remember the name).

    Asslam aleykum bro
the alim classes are taught in urdu so yes its necassary to learn urdu. But urdu is fairly easy. the urdu course thier is bout a year depends on you though. Also compared to the bigger madrasahs bury and so on buffalo is better cause there are less students and so more one on one with the teacher. For example this years bukhari class has 2 students. But other ones are 5 or 6. Also most of the teachers there are from UK madrasahs. About the applications they did accept my bros online but it wouldnt hurt to visit. inshallah i hope answered ur questions salaam aleykum

    Allaah yajzeekal khair.

I wish there was a course offered like that that taught shafi'i fiqh, but I guess, all Dar Nizami/'Alim course from India teach hanafi.

I still would like to benefit, after I've become grounded in the shafi'i madhhab so as to avoid getting confused, but I'd rather not start from the first year at that point, which apparently I may have to if they are all taught in urdu, which leads me to ask, do all Dar al 'Ulooms that teach this type of course (Dars Nizami) teach in Urdu, or require learning urdu, or are there some that are taught in english and/or arabic.

How about the one in Jamaica Queens, NY? What language do they teach in?

    As salaamu 'alaykum,
    Allaah yajzeek al khair akhi.

I have to think about it, but the main reason the Urdu part makes it more complicated is because I was planning on studying online first and then studying dars nizami, if possible, starting in the later years like the third or higher if possible, mainly because it might not be easy for me to stay in places like Buffaloe for too long.

I need to be in busy cities, otherwise I tend to get depressed and I don't like being too far north.

This madrassah teaches Shafi fiqh along with with Hanafi fiqh

    http://www.mahmoodiyah.org.za/
"Being wary of the fact that we have students from different schools of thought Jameah imparts Islamic jurisprudence on both, Hanafi and Shafi’ee schools of thought to the respective students."

    http://www.duai.co.za/index.htm

This madrassah is run by Shafi Ulama

"The presribed fiqh text is al-Fiqh al-Manhaji by Mustafa al-Khinn, Mustafa al-Bugha and ‘Ali al-Shurbaji. All three volumes, covering some 1600 pages, are covered in this year."

Al hamdu lillaah, the Dar ul 'Uloom al Islamiyah al 'Arabiyah looks perfect (may Allaah bless it in a great way and increase them in ease and abilities to accomadate students, aameen).
