Imam al-Asr Anwar Shah Kashmiri - knew 500000 hadiths by heart.

Mawlana Mufti Mahmud - knew more ahadith than Mawlana Abd Allah Darkhawasti.

I am not aware of these numbers or any claims to them.

Additionally, please note that the definition of a Hafiz of hadith has changed over the centuries and the most correct opinion is that a Hafiz is not defined by the number of hadiths he has memorized but his mastery of the science.

Typically, a Hafiz is considered the scholar of hadith that has such extensive knowledge of narrations and their chains that no narration is mentioned except that he has thorough knowledge of it.

Everything I have mentioned above was taken from the Dora-i-Tasifr of Mufti Zar Wali Khan. He heard from his ustad Muhaddith Allamah Yusuf Binori about the number of ahadith that were memorized by his ustaad Imam al-Asr.

Mufti Zar Wali Khan had close relations with Mawlana Mufti Mahmud. Infact he was present in the majlis of Ulama in which Mawlana Mufti Mahmud passed away. He mentions that his mastery over hadiths was greater than Mawlana Abd Allah Darkhawasti; including the number of ahadith he had memorized.

Mawlana Darkhawasti learned tafsir from Shaykh al-Quran Mawlana Hussain Ali Wabacharan who was a foremost student of Imam Gangohi and khalifa of Khawaja Muhammad Usman Damani. Some of other students of Mawlana Hussain Ali in tasfir and tasawwuf include:

1. Allamah Sarfraz Khan Safdar.
2. Allamah Ahmad Rada Binjori .
3. Shaykh al-Quran Mawlana Ghulam Allah Khan.
