    Default Black seed oil?

    Salaam

Just wondering if black seed oil is part of th Sunnah. From what I know and read it is Sunnah to wear olive oil. But then I’m wondering why there is so much emphasis on black seed oil iin Islamic shops? Why is it that many Islamic shops (in bham…dunno about any where else) sell black seed oil a lot in comparison to olive oil? Could it perhaps be due to the fact that black seed oil is Sunnah too?

    JazakAllah

    Wasalaam
If a person wants to measure his nearness to Allah, he should apply the following formula given by Shaykh Gangohi:

“A person’s nearness to Allah is proportional to his distance from his own ego and self [nafs].”

KULUNJI - its mention in the Hadith and its medicinal values

The name Kulunji has become quite common to many of us. We Muslims, more
especially, attach great importance to the use of this black-seed because of
the emphasis Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) has placed on it.

The Hadith states, "Hold on to (the essential use of) the 'black seed', for
certainly in it is a cure for every sickness except (the sickness which
Allah has decreed for one's) death".

All eminent and famous Hakims of the past and present have written on the
medicinal benefits and healing properties of Kulunji. There hasn't been a
period among Muslims of the world when the use of it was ever stopped. At
all times the seed was utilised with the belief and faith that benefits will
be derived in practising the Holy Prophet's (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam)
Sunnah with regard to the use of Kulunji.

Information from the United States data bank states that more than 150 books
and articles have been written in recent times by professionals, about the
physical and chemical properties of Kulunji. Likewise, extensive research
continues in many Universities and health research centres in the Islamic
world as well as in Western countries with regard to the many healing
    qualities of Kulunji.

During the 7th century (AH), ibn Qayyim, a great Islamic scholar, wrote
about the healing abilities of Kulunji in his famour book, "al-Tibb
al-Nabawi - the Medicines of the Prophet". He lists as many as 50 ailments
for which Kulunji has active and effective healing qualities. He even
suggests that the number of ailments which Kulunji is known to cure are far
more than double the amount listed by him. We Muslims may not find it
difficult to accept what ibn Qayyim has written since we have the Prophet's
(Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam) Hadith which clearly states that Kulunji is a
    cure for every ailment.

Some of the ailments for which Kulunji has effective cures, as listed in the
book of ibn Qayyim, are: headaches (migraine), stomach disorders, liver
disorders, jaundice, bronchial ailments, various skin diseases, cardiac
problems, wounds, colds, pimples, etc. Recently, a chemist in Kuwait,
Twayyib Abdullah al-Tiyyib, prescribed various Kulunji preparations for
treating patients suffering from many different ailments and, by the Grace
of Allah, all patients responded well and showed positive results.

    salam
so the stuff being sold in islamic shops is really kulunji?
i heard there are some differences in opinion about what exactly is the black seed referred to by the prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam.

ps. yes, not only no extra virgin olive oils from places of baraka like the sham, but also figs and dates ..and olives!

    where are they?

    Assalamu alaikum wr wb

All the food that I've been preparing for the past 6 months or so have all contained the black seed in them. I usually add anywhere from 1-2 Tbsp of them and depending on what kind of food they are, they add a nice taste to it.

Your just like my mother always putting black seed in everything. Today, I saw her holding a huge box of black seed and she was just dropping them into the cooking pot. It does make it taste good but for some reason at the end I feel very thirsty I don't know if that is the cause of it but it always happens after a nice blackseed meal.

Anyway's, I'm glad she's not the only one doing it now I feel safe.

    Question

I was wondering if black seed oil is good for people with polycystic kidney disease? I myself have that condition and also have cysts on my liver now

Inherited, nothing I can do, except kidney transplant, but insha'Allah, donno, maybe Zam-Zam water or black seed oil with honey or something must be out there that can destroy cysts, Allah swt knows best.

Have anyone heard that black seed oil might also be good for kidneys?
Mods avoid answering my questions, perhaps they're too hard for them?

May Allah make things easy for you. Ameen.

I just looked up this disease and I really hope you get better InshAllah. I’m not sure about black-seed oil but you know the Prophet (saw) sed that ‘the ajwat date is an excellent remedy’. (Muslim). As for as I know ajwat dates are dried dates.

Also the Prophet (saw) sed that ‘coriander seeds are for you, because they are a cure for all diseases except cancer-and that is a fatal disease” (Bukhari, Muslim)

I dunno, if any of this will help or not. But to be honest keep praying patiently InshAllah.

"O you who believe, seek help with patience and prayers, as God is with those who patiently persevere" (Quran 2:153).
