    Thumbs up Assalamulaikum

    Assalamulaikum

Jazakallah Khair, isn't it strange how sometimes you are looking for an answer and then it hits you in the face. Alhumdulillah! I think the article is excellent and also helped me see that one's modesty on forums as well should be guarded. Something which I have found very hard. Insh'allah, I'll ask Allah to help me to change. Jazakallah Khair again, this article was a real eye-opener.

    Walaikum salaam

    Wa alikum salaam

Brother Sikander, masha Allah, very good article.

I was thinking about starting one...

the thing is, when you have a lot of thoughts, and dont' want to bore someone who doesn't have all the time, or maybe they don't have different perspectives, you tend to want a wider audience. But so true, what is the point of some woman seeing your blog?

You can try www.4muslims.org/forums for blogs. Many people have 1 and most even just use it to redirect to their own blog wherever it is.

I definitly agree that the cross-gender interaction is a problem, both public and private interactions (like IM's, e-mail, etc).

I also agree that personal blogs should be divided into brother only and sister only.

I think the 3rd category where there is some personal comments and some general comments may be ok, depending on what "personal" comments are made. They shouldn't be breaking the modesty barrier basically.

so would you say there is this "problem" with my blog too....

    http://adabinislam.blogspot.com/

i only partially agree with you....there is no need for "personal" info blogs...thats just the same as being on facvebook, hi5 and all the rest of these bakwas services...but some blogs, infact most blogs that i read are actually beneficial...maybe y'all are looking in the wrong places?

Assalamu 'alaykum Wa Rahmathullah Wa Barakathuhu

Just a genuine question- one brother mentioned that could some of the principles mentioned in the article also apply to SunniForum itself?

    JazakAllah Khaira,
    Wasalam.

I think if anything, this forum is more danger to us than a blog , open interaction between both sexes ?

This may come off as a strange question but anyway, many times bloggers or anybody who runs a website post links on their website and say "we are not responsible for any external material." Many of the times external material is BAD for example a site that is posted may have deviant ideas one place or the other or they may have links to websites that are such. Is it really OK to do this saying as a disclaimer that you are not responsible for external material? This is an issue that really bothers me about blogging or running a website. I understand the greater benefit of a blog or a website that contains good and authentic Islamic information, but when you see that such links are on websites, you begin to wonder, a person may click these links and eventually take up, in many cases, DEVIANT or BAD ideas because of yourself. Because of this, you may have to answer to Allah, imagine saying "I put up a disclaimer saying I'm not responsible for such material." I realize however that this probably doesn't even cross the minds of many sincere Muslims who blog and run websites, but that's just it, it's an issue that needs to be addressed.
