Masha Allah...
Darul Uloom Deoband has launched an online Ifta website! I haven't browsed it yet...but here's the link anyway:

You can forward your questions in English if you want to! I wonder who the translator is.....If you have any questions which need to be answered, you better send it to them as soon as possible. Cause, I'm sure that site will soon be inundated with questions.
I wish them the best of luck.....
Brother, you are a little late, hehe
There is already a thread about this in sticky section.

awwww man....that sucks!....oh well....lol
I'm just really excited...
I have a feeling that Nuayman Bin Amr is a scholar or is really close to scholars....cause that news was sent out today in the emails on the Yahoo Ulama Forum:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_ulama/
Also, people don't usually read the top part cause it's a sticky....

Unfortunately, I am neither.I have a feeling that Nuayman Bin Amr is a scholar or is really close to scholars

I pray that it will be to the same standard (at least) as sunnipath q&a with regards to explanations and such. Perhaps the deoband style is not to give out too many proofs like sunnipath. But they have a tough situation as they have the indo-pak community back home who often 'dont need proofs' but since this is the domain of the internet, many western muslims will want to view their fatwas who need proofs (especially 'ex-salafi' people or people hearing the '..quran and sunnah brother..' line shoved down their throats)
Also one wish i have is askimam, sunnipath, and now the new deoband q&a would 'cross-link' on issues. This would do wonders for muslim unity (i have many thoughts as to why if not clear). Of course they can differ on opinion but i hope they can figure out a nice 'format' for that.
For example an answer about prayer in deoband q&a maybe:
"It should be like a b c, (note for those following shaafi madhab see qa.sunnipath.com/...)" or something like that - well maybe that maybe not be appropriate -what do people think?
The intention is to unite 'online', of course there are issues about convenience (like someone having to browse other fatwas and stuff - this is not a easy job but worth the effort perhaps?)
Any thoughts on any of this?
