    Lightbulb The celebration of life

    The celebration of life
    Tahsin Noor

Memory is very much like a whirlpool of emotions - joy, unhappiness, anxiousness, the aroma of Eid - they ravage my thoughts.

I can still remember the sweet days when I was a toddler, the beautiful smell of Eid radiating through the courtyard, my grandfather and father taking me to the Eidgah for the salaah, my mother making us delicious faluda, noodles, payesh - it was divine. Like the most beautiful day in the world, joy and happiness radiating in the air around me. Everyone, even the poorest of the poorest, forgot their sufferings and joined in the great celebration of life.

This is one reason why I never want to leave where I am standing now. The celebration of life.

Life is so wonderful. It can make you happy as you can be in one summit, and unhappy in the other. But if we can bond both of them together, into faith, thereupon dawns the victory of man.

Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, has created and blessed life to be such a great celebration. The Sun breaking through the clouds, beneath a deep blue background, the odic birds waking man from his deep slumber, the snowy polar bear swimming amidst the breaking ice, the beaver chipping away at the leaning tree, and the greatest sight of them all - man bowing prostrate to the glory of his Lord, underneath the beautiful canvas of nature.

‘Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom- who is powerful over everything- who has created death and life, so that He might test you as to which among you [proves that he] is good in conduct.’ al-Qurán 67: 1-2

Good stuff Xaxerian. Keep it up.

    Mashallah....

there is a joy in life.. especially the smaller things we often pass by without a thought in our every day lives.
Everything is a reminder of the mercy and blessings of Allah.

    .

Jezakh Allah Kheyran for the very kind comments, brothers and sisters.

Akhee Abu, I'm happy to have made you joyful and even more to have seen you perhaps even a little, reminiscent?

I have never been to Pakistan, though even here in Bangladesh, we have great fruits. They are everywhere in the world; the celebration of life radiates itself unto each and every sphere.

    Assalamu alaikum wr wb

    JazakuAllahkhairun for that beautiful article.

NEWBIES> Is it possible you could change your avatar as the SF rules here state that one's avatar (picture) cannot contain people's faces, bodies, animals, even if it was real or cartoon, or animated, it also stated no avatars of weapons or anything that would or could promote the support of violence. There are tons of very good islamic sites that have good islamic graphics that you can use insha'Allah. I hope this goes well for you and you are not in anyway offended by this request. If your email was open I could have sent this to you and saved the trouble but Shukrun and insha'Allah.

    .

Thank you for informing me sister, for I did not know earlier.

I shall change my avatar of course, but if your rules state no animated picture of a human face can be displayed, why do you permit smileys? There is even a smiley of the Devil ( ).

I hope that I haven't been disrespectful, but such discussions can only increase goodwill and knowledge.

The Sunniforum does not allow these kinds of avatars mentioned in their rules, but they do allow smilies as they do not fall into the haram category. Allahu Alim. If people find it to be wrong they can have the option not to use them insha'Allah.

    JazakuAllahkhairun.
