wahabi or "salafi"
He just calls himself a Muslim, but I believe he doesnt do taqleed of any Madhab. There is nothing wrong with listening to his lectures on comparative religion.

Interesting but now I have more questions---
I thought Bilal Philips was a "salafee" and in the forum you linked me to it seems as if "salafees" bash him.
Also Ahmed Deedat, I feel is trustworthy. I think he was Hanafi no? The askimam.com shaykhs are from South Africa, the same place as Ahmed Deedat.
As far as I know Bilal phillips is a Salafi.

I do avoid him but there is one book on Riyaa which he is the editor of and I do not feel it is so bad.
