perhaps another reminder of the avatars might be good as some newbies are coming in with people, animal avatars.

Are animated ok?

Animated avatars are okay

but they must stick to the same rules as for non-animated avatars (e.g. no faces, etc).

ahh ok.. JazakuAllahkhairun. Mine was an animated one, it handed people pieces of candy. I thought since it shows my status as a moderator I would offer one to people when posting as a way of saying Assalamu alaikum wr wb, want a candy? Here take one...Ok....let me tell you this and pls do not get offended type of thing. But since the avatar has size limits I had to downsize and since I did that it's just showing a bowl of candy for anyone to take instead of it being offered and handed out.

Can you have an avatar of a person but without the facial features?

E.g no eyes, nose, mouth etc?

Would my current one count as "illegal"?

If we're leniant and allow some to go past the rules, we wouldn't be fufiling our duties, and it will give others the platform to "appeal" against the rules too.
