Arrow 2 rakat Nafila before the Fard of Magrib

    As salamu aleykum,

Why is it not allowed to pray 2 rakat nafila before the Fard of Magrib in the Hanafi Madhab as there are Sahih hadiths tell us to do so like that between every azan and iqamah there is a prayer and others hadiths which are specifically mentioning a nafila prayer before Magrib.

Someone has a article about this?

Hadhrat Ta'oos reports that Hadhrat Ibn Umar (Radhiallahu anhu) was asked about the two rakah's before maghrib. He said, 'I have not seen anyone at the time of Rasulullah sallallaahou alaihe wassallam read them.' Abu Daood vol. 1 page 182

Default 2 Rakaats of Salah BEFORE Maghrib!

    W-Salam Brother,

It is the understanding of scholars that this is NOT a Moakidda Sunnah...

Al-Bukhari records, from 'Abdullah ibn Mughaffal, that the Prophet said: "Pray before maghrib, pray before maghrib," and after saying it a third time, he said: "For whoever wishes to do so," not wanting the people to take it as a sunnah. Ibn Hibban records that the Prophet prayed two rak'at before maghrib prayer.

Muslim records that Ibn 'Abbas said: "We would pray two rak'at before maghrib, and the Prophet would see us but he would not order us to do so, nor would he prohibit us."

Ibn Hajar says in Fath al-Bari: "All of the evidence points to the fact that it is preferred to say these two rak'at quickly like the two rak'at before the salatul fajr."

Ok but why is it Makruh (if it is said; For whoever wishes to do so i.e. praying 2 rakat before Magrib) in Hanafi Madhab?

    Asslamo Allaikum,

Here is the FULL text from Hidaya & no mention of Salah before Maghrib being Makrooh anywhere???

It may be because according to Hanafis, Maghrib Prayer should be started very quickly after Aadhan (as is narrated in a hadith), whcih leaves no time for the two rak'aats:

"The hastening of Maghrib is recommended, because delaying it is dissaproved (makruh) insofar as there is a similarity in it to the act of the Jews. The Prophet (God bless him and grant him peace) said, 'My Ummah will continue to attain blessings as long as they hasten to offer the evening prayer and delay the night prayer' " (Hidayah, Eng. trans. of Dr Imran Nyazee, page 86)
