No, I am not one of the 'amirs. The way that we presently proceed here (UK) is that one would attend one of the regular weekly gatherings and meet the people (the amir included). Since al umar'ah are generally far to busy to deal with such requests queries on-line or by phone, and they would probably tell you the same anyhow, "come and meet the people".
