Default TurathPublishing Book Launch July 2007

Alhamdulillah by the grace of Almighty Allah Turath Publishing will be holding an Event to launch their three new kitabs to be published this summer,
many key speakers will be attending including, Shaykh Muhammad Akram from Oxford, Sidi Abdul Hakim Murad from Cambridge, Shaykh Muhmmad Yaqobi of Syria and Prof Shaykh Dr Mahmood Chandia, Mufti Zubair Bhaiyat of South Africa and Dr Muhammad Isa Waley of the British Library.

The event is being scheduled to be held on Saturday 7th July 2007 at Friend's House, Euston London.

    The Kitabs being:

    Madrassah Life

    A student's day at Nadwat Al-Ulama

By Mohammed Akram An-Nadwi - Oxford Centre of Islamic Studies

Forward by James Piscatori - Wadham College, University of Oxford

"An intriguing glimpse into madrasah life... is a world where pious contemplation combined with a passion for knowledge and intellectual debate raise students-and readers of this book- to lofty heights."
    Djihan Skinner-
Research fellow working in Oxford on 'Cultural History of Islam in India'

"A fresh approach for those seeking to understand the inner working of a madrasah, Dr Nadwi's book provides an authoritative yet personal account of daily life inside these traditional institutions of learning. Written in a highly accessible manner, it will offer an invaluable contribution to understanding Islam for readers in the English speaking world." Alexander Kent- Canterbury Christcurch University
The Compendium of Knowledge and Wisdom

The Compendium of Knowledge and Wisdom is the translation by Abdassamd Clarke of the masterwork of Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali, the Jami' al-'ulum wa;l-hikam, which is his commentary on fifty hadith including the Forty of Imaam an-Nawawi. Every hadith is one of those considered by the 'ulama essential for knowledge of the deen. The topics range from the most exacting treatments of the affairs of the shari'ah to luminous expositions of the spiritual sciences of Islam.
    and

The Garden of the Hadith Scholars

Originally written in Persian, the Hadith Scholars was translated into Arabic by Muhammad Akram an-Nadwi. The book before us is the translation by 'Aishah Bewley, perhaps the most distinguished living translator from classical Arabic, of the Bustan al Muhaditheen. This extraordinary work by Imam 'Abd al-'Aziz (1159 to 1239 AH), the son of Shah Wali Allah Ad-Dihlawi, is a masterful account of the major Hadith collections and their authors. Replete with information on these great men and their books, this work will be indispensable for the serious student of Hadith.

"Invite (people) to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good counsel. And argue with them in the best of manners. Surely, your Lord knows best the one who deviates from His way, and He knows best the ones who are on the right path"[16:125]

I slept on that then didn't I. Still, if you know Hajj `Abdu's-Samad's work...no real loss.

I am very impressed by Turath Publishing's list of upcoming books. They should be very, very beneficial, especially for students of Hanafi fiqh.

Imam Nawawi's Kitab al-Adhkar, Mufti Taqi 'Uthmani's lectures on the Jami' of Imam Tirmidhi , 'Allamah Shibli Nu'mani's work on Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi etc.
