sister katy , have you ever heard of shaykh ahmed deedat??? lol

sister katy , have you ever heard of shaykh ahmed deedat??? lol

The Messiah (al-Maseeh) means the appointed one, the anointed one, to the children of Israel. Jesus or Isa (as) was sent only to his nation, not to any other nation (as were all the Messenger of Allahuntil Muhammad
).
There is no difference really as far as I know, and it doesn't make Jesus (as) any greater than the other messengers nor less important in his mission.
And Allahknow best.

Why do christians have a problem with the prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) having multiple wives. Doesn't the bible say the prophet David(a.s) had multiple wives and that the prophet Solomon(a.s) had 700 wives and 300 concubines. Don't believe me, then here are the verses:
1 Kings 11:3 (King James Version)
"And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart."
Why don't you look it up and see for yourself. Note, that as a muslim i don't take the word of the bible as fact, so i'm not saying i believe the above bible verse. As far as i know, we muslims also believe Solomon(a.s) had many wives, but i don't think we believe he had that much.
Thanks for all the replies!
From what I have read so far, in Islam Jesus is called the Messiah since in the Quran he was referred to as one and no one else was called Messiah. Did I understand correctly or not?
Could someone give me the lines in the Quran that call him Messiah.
Since it seems that my questions about the Hadiths might be difficult to reply to, if I were to read any of the Hadiths, which ones do you recommend me to read.
To loveProphet, read the link and understood it. But it doesn't mention Maryam Al-Qibtiyya, isn't she also his wife?
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah (in Hebrew Messias, "the anointed one") prophesied in the Old Testament. The word Christ or Christos is the Greek equivalent of the word Messias.
If anyone says, "I love God," but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. This is the commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.--- 1 John 4:20-21
Hello Katy
I will not attempt to answer your questions as I know there are people who have better insight and experience in answering these questions.
But, can I ask a question and please don't take offence...
but are your questions academic or genuinely curious in that if they were answered conclusively you would accept Islam?
Take care and all the best
"By Time, Verily Man is in loss... except those who believe, do righteous deeds, exhort one another to truth and have patience." [Surah Asr:103]
"On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear..." [Surah Baqarah:2, Verse 285]
--What is Islam? --
We don't believe that our prophets are perfect and incapable of sinning.
King David himself sinned when he had an adulterous affair with Uriah’s wife and killed Uriah to cover it up. For this God punished him.
About King Solomon, which the verse you quoted refers to, read further-
You used the verse out of context! That chapter talks of King Solomon turning away from God.
Here is Part of the Chapter (its long). I underlined the line that you quoted
*******
1Kings 11:1-6,9
Edited: I quoted those verses here but now I decided to remove it since it could be considered as insulting an Islamic prophet. If you wish to read the verses quoted here, it is 1 Kings 11:1-6,9.
Sorry for offending you!
******
You can read the whole chapter yourself, it is very long.

No offense taken.
My questions has nothing to do with if Islam is the true religion or not, so even if they were answered conclusively there is no reason for me to accept Islam, which I don't plan to do.
Genuinely curious. If I have a question on Islam, I should ask a Muslim that is why I ask them here.
God Bless!

katy,
may Allah, my Lord and your Lord, the One and Only Lord, guide you to the Truth.
Edited: here are some questions for Christians:
1. How can Jesus be God and son of God at the same time?
2. Isn't it ridiculous that the Creator of the Universe punishes and humiliates himself?
3. Or prays to Himself, since Jesus did pray?
4. How come in the whole Bible, not once it is said that Jesus created something? I mean explicitly? Not a single word. I'd expect from the Lord of the Universe to say such a thing. The Creator will surely say so, what do you think?
5. What's the story with the Holy Spirit? Christians have no idea who he is. I mean, if he is God, one of the 3 as Christians constantly claim, what happened to his ability to create? Since according to the Bible, he created nothing.
6. 3 in 1, 1 in 3, etc. who is the "master"? They can't be equal I mean, and yet Cathecism claims so. Somebody has to say "the final word".
7. Can you imagine God, may God forgive me, going to toilet? After all those meals I mean, a man needs to go to toilet, like you and me, and Jesus, but how can you imagine that God needs to do that? Why would you worship some one who is so imperfect?
8. God-man, man-God thing. Christians claim that Jesus is either son of God, God himself or both. Which one? How can God be man and God at the same time? I mean, then we are talking about 2 different beings, right? Christians claim, God is 1 in the end, and yet they don't understand the trinity, none does.
9. Why everybody all of the sudden believes what Paul, the bounty hounter on the Christian heads, says after having only 1 tiny little vision on that road to Damascus? And nobody else saw what he saw and yet all of them believe him?
10. If Mary, mother of Jesus, is God's mother, then she must be more powerful than him, but the Bible hardly mentiones her? Why is that so? Further, Mary had a mother and a father, etc. so what's the story with her parents? Anything divine in them or not?
Having an honest attempt to discuss these matters I invite you to answer them.

So are your questions answered so far?
As for Maryam Al-Qibtiyya (Maryah the Copt), she was given to the prohpet (saas) by Egypt's king - Al Muqawqas - as a present and the prophet (saas) accepted, freed and married her. This was in the year 7 after hijra, 3 years before the prophet's death.
I really appreciate that, thank you for this attitude!Genuinely curious. If I have a question on Islam, I should ask a Muslim that is why I ask them here.
Feel free to ask whatever you want, and please avoid polemics from both sides Muslims and Christians!
If you'd like to know more about Islam, I've already recommended two books about Hadith to answer your questions (see my previous post), and I also recommend that you read "Islam and the Destiny of Man" by Charles Le Gai Eaton, which as an excellent introduction to the religion of Islam as a whole (If you are interested, of course)
You can purchase from Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/Islam-Destiny-...9785576&sr=1-1
And please brothers and sisters, she is our guest, we shouldn't attack here religion or try to put pressure on her calling her to Islam. I understand that we have to give da'wa, but she is here only to ask some questions about Islam so by doing so she may be annoyed and leave the forum.
IMO, we should only answer her questions as long as they are asked respectfuly and she's asking them to know, not to attack.
