Assalamo aleikom wa rahmatu Allah wa barakathu
I have a rather discussable question conserning something i've read which made me question the truth in it. The question is as the topic says:
"What was our beloved Prophet (saas) saying on abuse against women?"
Something that shocked me, while also beeing the reason that made me write her with hopes that some brothers or sister could help, is these following traditions:
- Bukhari (72:715) - A woman came to Muhammad and begged her to stop her husband from beating her. Her skin was bruised so badly that she it is described as being "greener" than the green veil she was wearing. Muhammad did not admonish her husband, but instead ordered her to return to him and submit to his sexual desires.
- Muslim (4:2127) - Muhammad struck his favorite wife, Aisha, in the chest one evening when she left the house without his permission. Aisha narrates, "He struck me on the chest which caused me pain."
Now, are these sahih traditions fabricated?
Please provide sourses as much as you can for what you write. Try to make difference between your own thoughts and proof from the Islamic Sharia, The Holy Quran or Sunnah.
Wasaalam
