Default Some Famous Readings Of Exposition From Great Mujaddith's Of Deoband

    Assalamu Alaikum

I was shown the following. I know some of it is lies, but some of it is very confusing to me. I will post the article and clear what I can, and someone could clear up the remaining insha ALLAH

    1. Do not try to understand the Qur'ân ever. Else, you will go astray. Fifteen “Uloom” (sciences) are required to understand the Book. (“Maulana” Zakaria Kandhalwi, Fazael Amaal, p.2)

It is written in Fazae Amal, Virtues of Quran p 15 that:

The Mashaik have mentioned six external and six internal rules of reverance for reading the Holy Quran, whihc are given below:

    Rules of internal reverance

    4) Dwell upon the meanings and enjoy reading it

The quote mentioned is actually referring to giving commentary of the Holy Quran:

Hadhrat Ibn Masud RA said: “If you seek knowledge, you should meditate on the meanings of the Quran, because it embodies the history of former as well as of latter times.”
It is, however, essential to observe the prerequisites for interpreting the Quran. An unbecoming present day fashion is that even tose who possess little or no knowledge of Arabic vocabulary offer their personal opinión on the basis of vernacular translations of the Quran. Specialists have laid down that anyone attempting a commentary of the Holy Quran should be well versed in 15 subjects. These, as briefly given below, Hill show that it is not posible for everybody to understand the underlying significance and real meanings of the Holy Quran.

    P 28

    2. Do not read the Qur'ân with understanding, you will go astray. (Fazaael Aamal, “Maulana” Ashraf Ali Thanwi, p. 216)

I could not find this quote, but it is probably referring to giving commentary of the Quran as well.

    3. Delaying prayer once will cause a person to burn in the hellfire for 20.88 million years, just because he or she failed to pray on exact time. (“Maulana” Zakaria Kandhalwi, Fazaael Namaz, p.317)

This is reported as a hadith:

The Prophet SAW is reported to have said: “ A person neglecting his salaat (even though he makes it up later) shall remain in hell for a period of one Haqb. A Haqb is equal to eighty years of thre hundred and sixty days each, and a day in the hereafter shall equal one thousand years of this world. ( Majaalisul Abrar)

    Virtues of Salaat p 47

    4. Recite the whole Qur'ân in one raka’ah like saints did! [That will amount to more than 50 times of the whole Qur'ân in a single day!] (Fazaael Namaz p.64.) Saints recite 2,000 raka’ahs every day. They keep standing the full one month of Ramadhan reciting the Qur'ân twice a day! (Tableegh-I-Nisab Fazaael Aamal)

Imam Nawawi and Imam Dhahabi mentions similar stories in their works.

    5. “Maulana” Ashraf Ali Thanwi separated the way of Salat between men and women in his book “Bahishti Zever.” (Masjid Tauheed, Karachi. Muhammad Sultan)

This does not even need explaining!

    6. When Shah Waliullah was in his mother’s womb, she said a prayer. Two tiny hands (too) appeared for prayer. She was frightened. Her husband said, "You have Qutubul-Aqtab (Wali of Walis) in your womb (Hikayat-e-Awlia, p. 17 Ashraf Ali Thanwi) What a break-through!

    7. Junaid Baghdadi was sitting when a dog crossed by. He merely glanced at the dog. The dog reached such glory that all dogs of the town followed him. Then he sat down and all dogs sat around him in meditation. (Ashraf Ali Thanwi. Imdad-ul- Mushtaq)

    9. The prophet laid the foundation of Darul-Uloom, Deoband, India (in the 19th century) He comes to check accounts of the school. He has learnt the Urdu language. (Mubasshirat-e-Darul Uloom, and Deoband Number of the Darul-Uloom)

    10. Mulla Mohammad Qasim Nanotwi saw in his dream that he was sitting in the lap of Allaah. (Biography of Mulla Qasim by Mulla Mohammad Yaqoob Nanotwi)

I dont know about the sitting in the lap, but it is possible to see Allah in a dream:

    http://************/index.php?ref=27...Allaah%20dream

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said, “A believer may see his Lord in a dream, in various forms according to his faith and belief. If his eemaan is correct, he can only see Him in a beautiful form, and if his faith is lacking, this will be reflected in the way he sees Him. Seeing Allaah in a dream is not like seeing Him in reality. It may have different interpretations and meanings referring to something in reality.” (al-Fataawa, 3/390)

He also said, “Whoever sees Allaah in a dream sees Him in a form that corresponds to his own state. If he is righteous, he will see Him in a beautiful form, which is why the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw him in the most beautiful form. (al-Fataawa, 5/251)

    11. The advent of another Prophet is quite possible. (Mulla Abdul Hai Farangi Mahli and Mulla Qasim Nanotwi, Tahzeer-in-Nas, p.34, Athar Ibn Abbas, p.16)
WHY BLAME MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD QADIANI ONLY?

At the moment, I am traveling abroad and cannot easily refer to Tahzeerun Naas and the context of the statement by Ml. Qasim Nanotwi (RA).

However, the issue of the finality of the prophethood of Rasulullah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) is absolute. He is the last prophet and there is no prophet to come after Rasulullah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam). Hazrat Easa’s (AS) return to earth will be as a follower of Rasulullah (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam).

    and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

    12. Disrespect to a monk is more perilous than disrespect to Allaah. (Mulla Ashraf Ali Thanwi, Al-Ashraf, p.23, Nov. 1991)

    13. Dear reader, now read what p.154 “ Islam or Maslak Parasti” says: According to the Qur'ân anything dedicated to other than Allaah in forbidden. It is our maulvi mind who declare virtuous such things as Koondas of Ja’afar Sadiq, halwa of Shabe barat in the name of Owais Qarni, haleem and sherbet of Imam Hussain and Niaz of the 11th in the name of Jeelani!

Deobanidis do not seclebrate these 'festivals' so this has to be referring to another group

    14. Risala Tazkara of Darul-uloom Deoband of 1965 claims: Anyone suffering from malaria who took dust from the grave of “Maulana” Yaqoob Nanotwi and tied this dust to his body, found instant relief.

    15. Allaah cuts jokes with the Ulama of Deoband. One of them went to a well for “Wudu” (Ablution) He lowered the bucket in the well. It came back full of silver. The Holy man said to Allaah: Don’t kid around! I am getting late for prayers. He lowered the bucket in again and this time it came back full of gold. (Risala Tazkara of Darul-uloom Deoband of April 1965)

    16. In the night of Meraj (Ascension) Imam Ghazali rebuked Prophet Moses. Mohammed said, " Respect O' Ghazali!" (Malfoozat Haaji Imdaadullaah Muhaajir Makki, Imdad-ul- Mushtaq) by Ashraf Ali Thanwi.

[Please note that Ghazali was born centuries after passing away of the holy prophet]

    17. Take the right arm of a goat after Friday prayers. Be completely naked. Write Sura Yasin and the name of the person you want, then put the meat in the cooking pot. That person will fall in love with you. (Monthly "Khalid" Deoband Darul Uloom)

    18. If you want to kill your enemy write A to T on a piece of bread. Recite Surah "RA'AD.” Break the bread into five pieces and feed them to five dogs. Say to dogs, 'Eat the flesh of my enemy'. By the will of Allaah your enemy will have huge boils on his body. (Darul uloom Deoband "Khalid")

    19. Say "Fazabooha" before you cut a melon, or any thing else (for that matter), you will find it sweet. (Aamale-Qurani, Ashraf Ali Thanwi)

    20. Recite the verse "When the heaven will split.” Write it (on a piece of paper) and tie to the left thigh of any woman in labor, child birth will become easy. Cut the hair of that woman and
burn them between her thighs, childbirth will be easier still. (Aamal-e-Qurani, Ashraf Ali Thanwi)

Imam Ibn Taymiyya (Allah have mercy on him) writes in his Fatawa:

“It is permissible for an ill or troubled person, that certain verses from the Qur’an are written with pure ink, then it is washed and given to the ill to drink.
Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) is reported to have mentioned a certain Dua that should be written and placed close to the woman who is experiencing hard labour at the time of giving birth.

Sayyiduna Ali (Allah be pleased with him) says: This Dua should be written and tied to the arm of the woman. We have experienced that there is nothing more amazing than this” (Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya, 19/65).

BUT WHAT ABOUT CUTTING THE HAIR AND BURNING IT?????

    21. During labor pains let the woman hold Mawatta Imam Malik for instant delivery. (Aamal-e-Qurani, Ashraf Ali Thanwi)

    22. See what “Hakeemul Ummat” Thanwi says! Keep reciting "Al Mughni" during sex and the woman will love you. (same book, Ashraf Ali Thanwi)

    24. When, "Maulana" Zakaria, the father of "Maulana" Yousuf Bannuri would fall sick, the prophet would come. He told the house servant, "Badshah Khan! I (the holy prophet), am also serving Zakaria. (Bayyanat 1975 Ashraf Ali Thanwi p. 7)

    25. The prophet said to sister-in-law of Haaji Imdaadullaah Muhajir Makki, "Get up! I will cook meals for guests of Imdaadullaah." (Bayyanat p. 8, Ashraf Ali Thanwi)

    27. The wife of Mullah Jalaaluddin Rumi thought that his sexual desire had vanished. The Mullah came to know of her suspicion in a special trance of revelation (KASHF). That night he went to
the wife and drilled her 70 times. (Please excuse the language) So much so that she asked forgiveness. (Manaqib-il-Arifain, p.70, by Shamsuddin Akhlaqi)

Now please witness how far these Mujaddith's of Deoband can go! See what garbage Mulla Ashraf Ali Thanwi is trying to unload. The same Thanwi whom other Mullahs call “Hakeem-ul-Ummat”!

    28. He writes on p.110 in “Imdaadul Mushtaq”: There was a true monotheist. People told him if delicious food is part of the person of Allaah and feces too is a part of Him, eat both. Well, the Sheikh first became a pig and ate feces. Then he became a human being and ate food! Isn’t that height of "wisdom" of our wise of the nation!”

    29. Here is another pearl of wisdom from him: There was a Pir Sadiq from Ashraf Ali Thanwi’s town. He taught his disciples “There is no God but Allah and Sadiq is His messenger.” {Astaghfirullaah} The wise of the nation Thanwi declared that teaching OK. (Imane Khalis, p.109, Hazrat Masood Uthmani)

    31. "Maulana” Yousuf Bannuri writes: The Prophet told my father, Zakaria! When you fall sick I also fall sick. Hazrat Ali had come to conduct the marriage of my father and mother. (In the 19th century!) (Iman-e-Khalis, pp. 7 and 8, Hazrat Masooduddin Usmani, Fazil Uloom Deenia)

Note : I will just edit your post to add the info within this post.. -Abuhajira

    Assalam Allaikum,

First of all, its a waste of time arguing with people who spend so much time in trying to divide real Muslims. Although you didn't mention but it seems that these so-called charges are from some ahle-hadith/salafi type website. As you said it yourself, some of these are of dubious nature since it doesn't add up. Secondly, one must have proper adab, which of course most of modern day ahle hadith lack, to demand an explanation before incriminating someone of heresy. Let's all ask ourselves this question: If Deobandis are really astray, as ahle hadith or salafis claim, have they tried to hold a public debate with them to clarify what is meant by such statements? Why do they launch their attacks from behind the veil of the internet? It is clear that they are not interested in a scholarly debate since that would expose their agenda. Lastly, we must understand that the ahle hadith, due to their excessiveness, have incorrectly classified as bidah or shirk, many of such beliefs/practices that have basis in the Quran and Sunnah. For example, there are many examples of marvels of Auliya in the Quran, and to even a greater degree in the Hadith. So what is wrong if Allah uses a wali to display his qudrah?

With that being said, I will only analyze some of these as I don't have all the primary sources available:

As mentioned above, these can be classified under "marvels of auliya". This has nothing to do with shirk as long as the marvel is attributed to Allah. This is the understanding of the ahlus sunnah.

I am not sure how correctly they have quoted the above 'amaal but it is a fact that many, if not all, of the ulema of Deoband, for the benefit of awaam, prescribed these 'amaals and they are highly effective. Again, this is something that is experiential in nature and has nothing to do with shirk since we don't call on other than Allah in fulfulling the need. Also, these are not essential to our beliefs so one must not become obsessed with them. Besides, our akabir have always encouraged reading of masoor ad'iya (prophetic invocations) over such actions so its not a hujjah against us.

    25. The prophet said to sister-in-law of Haaji Imdaadullaah Muhajir Makki, "Get up! I will cook meals for guests of Imdaadullaah." (Bayyanat p. 8, Ashraf Ali Thanwi)

Please see the actual translation of this incident from Imdad-ul-sulook written by Hazrat Gangohi:

Haji Sahib ra saw in a dream that the holy prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and told his sister-in-law that "Get up! I will cook meals for guests of Imdaadullaah. His guests are ulema"
As you can see how conveniently the author forgot to mention that it was a dream and that holy prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentions that "his guests are ulema" which is indicative of why this special honor was being bestowed.

    27. The wife of Mullah Jalaaluddin Rumi thought that his sexual desire had vanished. The Mullah came to know of her suspicion in a special trance of revelation (KASHF). That night he went to
the wife and ****** her 70 times.

First of all, Kashf and Ilham are true, without any question. To deny them is utter ignorance. Secondly, the male prowess that is cited will be the norm in jannah as we all know from prophetic narrations. Now, will the respected author put his fatwa of "garbage" on the prophetic narration that details about the sexual prowess of males in jannah? I don't hope so. Secondly, our ulema never say to regard such stories or narratives at par with Quran and Sunnah. If you are unable to grasp the moral of these stories, you are free to reject them.

I agree its a waste of time arguing every single point. But firstly, this was posted on a local forum website, by people I know personally, and also read by people I know personally.

Secondly, while I have kinda realized that salafis are incorrect in their rejection of taqleed, and their refutaion of Ashari aqeedah, I am not as yet fully convinced of Deobandis being 100 % correct (even though I have a full Deobandi background). So the clarification is primarily for me.

inshallah i wil print this out and take it to shaikh riyhaadul haq or a local mufti. the thing is i dont think they would even bother reading this rubbish. this is an old article and it was shown to a few scholars before and they just laughed at its stupidity and blatant lies. if there was any haqq in this y has no salafi ever taken this to our ulema and confront them instead of using cheap tactics posting it on sites.

I have the Urdu book "amaliyat au ta'weezat aur us ke shar'ee ahkam" by Maulana Thanvi ra. Please see the translated portion wherin Hakeem-ul-ummat discussed the background of amaliyat:

The Proof for All Types of Amaliyat and Ta'weezat

Hazrat Thanvi ra said "All types of amaliyat are derivative (ijtihadi) and are not proven from the prophetic narrations as lay people think. The amileen (those who practice amaliyat) have prescribed Quranic verses, etc, according to the situation that might be relevant to it.

The amal to eliminate ants - Hazrat Thanvi ra said that Maulana Shaykh Muhammad ra related an incident about his home. He said that his house became infested with ants at one point. He noticed that they were all originating from a certain hole in his house. He wrote the following verse and left it at the entrance of the hole.

[27.18] O Naml! enter your houses, (that) Sulaiman and his hosts may not crush you while they do not know.

All the ants were contained in the hole after this.

Hazrat Haji Imdadullah ra said on this "amaliyat were devised in this manner such that whatever ayat appeared relevant to the need, it was prescribed and it would prove to be effective".

With regards to the special formulas that amileen have prescribed, Hazrat Thanvi ra stated "These are not revelatory (ilhami). A lot of these are conjectures, some may appear to be relevant, while others experiential. For example, there is a famous amal about Surah al-Shams for having a safe and sound child birth which has been narrated by Hazrat Shah Wali Ullah in 'Qawl-al-Jameel'. Its a very effective amal as has been proven through experience but it remains a mystery as far as how Surah al-Shams is relevant to child birth. After a long time it occurred to me that the ayah within the Surah "[91.7] And the soul and Him Who made it perfect" has a relationship with it. A lot of these relationships can be established by almost everyone.

Thus, I would prescribe something relevant and see its effects also. For example, a lady (who was Hazrat's mahram) was trying to part her hair but after repeated attempts there remain some crookedness in the line. He told her to recite "[1.5] Keep us on the right path." and try it. Immediately, she was able to part her hair without any crookedness.

After this, Hazrat Thanvi ra has related some more examples of what he prescribes for certain situations. What must be kept in mind is that we must consider these amals as medicinal in nature. In other words, its an art that can be acquired just like any other worldly art. Also, the effect in it, comes through the order of Allah.
