Question ANSWERED: Doesn't heaven wipe out hell's pain?

Please don't beat me up saleel, a bro asked me this, and I couldn't answer.

Allah's mercy overcomes his wrath, right? As long as we testify and, with conviction, believe, that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger, eternal punishment in hell is forbidden for us, right? A few million years in hell is minor because eternity in heaven will eradicate any feeling of distress from hell and the pleasure will override any pain.

He's not saying that something is impermissible for Allah but rather Allah has promised jannah for those who believe. So then, why should we strive to avoid sin, when afterall, we'll only burn in hellfire for a limited amount of time thereafter go to jannah for eternity - automatically wiping out any trace of hellfire???

I ain't no scholar, but if someone feels comfortable with staying in hell fire for "a few million years", he's achieved a state of mind beyond my comprehension.

Ever try putting your hand on a hot stove? Well, it'll be far worse than that, and for much longer too. So avoid it as much as you can, as no time in hell is minor. If we do get into paradise, that will be after the punishment, which will be real (i.e. you'll still feel it, and probably won't have enough presence of mind to think of the future and paradise). Plus, what if not staying away from sins takes us so far that we end up losing iman all together. Then it's the HELL that's eternal.

Plus, "do good deeds" almost always goes hand-in-hand with "those who believe" in the Quran. ( إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ )

What's a million years compared to eternity? Zilch.

Like shaykh eat-halal guy said, we wouldn't even want to put our hand on a hotstove, which would be a few seconds......

(After some discussion about why it's important to act as well as to have iman...)

Ziad says: how innocent was the Prophet (saw)?
Ziad says: how pious was he?
Ziad says: how close was he to Allah?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: 100%
    Ziad says: ok
Ziad says: then why did he stay up all night
Ziad says: weeping in front of Allah
    Ziad says: praying tahajjud
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: erm, because he wanted to be grateful..
    Ziad says: right...grateful for wot?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: for what allah granted him, his station that is
    Ziad says: right
Ziad says: wot has Allah granted u? (the main thing)
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: Imaan.
    Ziad says: right
Ziad says: so should u not be grateful?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: for sure.
    Ziad says: ok, how?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: submission
    Ziad says: which means...?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: prayer
    Ziad says: right, and?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: and the other acts of obedience
Ziad says: right...and following His commands...
    Ziad says: which means...
Ziad says: staying away from wot He prohibited and doing wot He ordered
    Ziad says: correct?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: yeh
    Ziad says: case closed.
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says:
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: jazakAllah bro.
    Ziad says: waiyyak
Ziad says: now is it clear?
And those that believe are overflowing in their love of God says: yeh its clear.
