Salaam everyone,

Shaykh Sulayman Ghani should be delivering a lecture on the 31/8 (this friday) at 6.30pm at Masjid-e-Abu Bakr on the moonsighting issue. He'll take any questions you might have to throw at him too, so don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Also, Moulana Muhammad Patel gives very interesting talks every week at Masjid-e-Umar after Maghrib on saturdays and Dhuhr on sundays on various topics (mainly Qur'an tafseer and tassawwuf respectively). He is a Khalifah of Shaykh Maseehullah Khan and has been doing these talks consistently for over 20 years.

Reminds me of a so called 'moderate' salafi friend of mine. He says that in the interest of unity we should follow the majority of our country in starting or ending the month of ramadhaan,

So I said to him that the outright majority here in South Africa is Sunni Mathabi so you should follow us. Needless to say 'he still goes with makkah'
