    Greetings,

In Islamic metaphysics the Alam al-Ghayb (the supra-formal world) is the world of the Archetypes (al-ayn ath-thabitah) of all created things as they exist in the formal world (Alam ash-Shahadah). These are thought to be the same realities (haqa'iq) spoken about by Plato in his doctrine of the forms or ideas (eidos) which are coagulated or congealed into that gross matter that comprises the material, sensorial world.

Also, the Divine attributes can find as their medium our human agency, but they are rightfully God's and we have no right to claim them.

    And God knows best...

Brother no offense, you lost me on your first paragraph

But i somehow by the will of God, i understood your second paragraph.

Anyway, My point was that some people [Fitna Mongers] do not want to have unity, because they think i am a Kafir [Astagfirullah], they say i degrade Rasulullah , hopefully these are just a minority [i hope so] who have these somewhat ott understanding.

I really do want to get in the Spiritual world, but i dont think im ready for it, i might lose myself

Insha-Allah when Allah has bestowed me with sufficient amount of knowledge, i will.

    Brother.

It is reported from Abu Umamah from the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi WaSallam) that he said:

    اتَّقُوا فِرَاسَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْظُرُ بِنُورِ اللَّهِ

Why do they think you are a kafir (in what way do you "degrade" the Prophet in their eyes), and what do you mean by wanting to get into the Spiritual world?

    Assalam o alaykum,

Imam al-Mutakallimin Allamah Asfahani (may Allah have mercy on him) says:

من ضروريات الدين ان علم الغيب مختص باللّه تعالى

It is from the fundamentals of Din that ilm-e-ghayb is specific to the Zat of Allah.

Imam Shafi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

ان اللّه تعالى استاثر بعلمه الغيب

Verily Allah has specified the knowledge of unseen to Himself only.

    [Kitab al-Umm, II:202]

When Mujaddid Alf-i-Sani (may Allah have mercy on him) read that a certain ghali Sufi named Abdul Karim Yamani said that Allah is not Alim al-Ghayb, so Imam said, when I hear stuff like this, my Faruqi veins/blood boils, and I have no strength to hear nonsense like this. Then he went on to said that to say Allah is not Alim al-Ghayb is like doing takzib of Allah.

    [Maktubat, II:100]

No one beside Allah has the complete knowledge of unseen but different individuals are given different amount of news of ghayb or "anba ul-ghayb/akhbar ul-ghayb."

    Br Shuayb.

They call me Kafir, because i do not attribute Allah's quality to Prophet ...just the other day me and some Brothers went to them, outside their Masjid to unite them and us, but all they had to say was: "Change your beliefs", Subhan-Allah, Allah as my witness.

Br Khanaba that was very helpful.

another question if you can endeavor to answer me:

Is it true that when something from the Ilm ul Ghayb is shown it no longer remains Ilm ul Ghayb, but rather it then becomes common knowledge?

like for example Allah has given some knowledge to our Prophet but this knowledge is now common knowledge, because our Prophet informed us about it?

    hear from you soon.

The attributes of God are solely his.
We must be careful in attributing them to others.

The things we rely on God the most as servants are that he can see us at all times. He hears us at all times. We call on him and he saves us. We praise him all the time.

Now what some sects have done is to take all these personal attributes of God and attribute them to some of his messengers.

So what the Christians did is that they saw that God is a distant object in Judaic law and they wanted to bring him closer to humans and they invented the story of incarnation and *COMPLETE* intercession and attributed the Logos attributes of God to a man,Jesus(alayhis salam)

Now be careful of everything that shuayb ahmad says in aqeeda as he is a perennialist and they even end up defending hinduism by twisting the words of the awliya
You find hindu Gods on the cover of some of Fritjof Schuon's books. And Muhammad(saw) when he came to Makkah , he didnt go around decorating the idols as symbols of perennial truths.
    He smashed them to pieces.

The perennialists are very intelligent generally- but then ALL the leaders of misguided sects including the mu'tazila etc were geniuses.

    Alhamdulillah

    Br as-sufi

for your info, these people from this group [i hope it is a minority of them] say to me, i believe the Prophet is just a man, and he is given no knowledge, they speak with their tongues in their mouths and wickedness in their hearts.

They say i believe in something without asking me what i believe. Subhan-Allah.

    May Allah guide them.

And regarding Br Shuayb Ahmed, i am well aware of his beliefs, but i do not wish to discuss issues in which I have no knowledge of, even though for sure i can say i am on a path different than of his.

Those who are experts in this field may take the path and discuss with him. by no means i am an expert.

Default Re: Understanding an Arabic word [Alim ul-Ghayb]

1] Is this a name of Allah [Azza Wa Jal] i.e. His Sifaat [99 names]??
    ans: al-aleem (all knowing)
Surely Allah Alone has the knowledge of the Hour, He is the One Who sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs. No one knows what he will earn the next day; and no one knows in what land he will die. Surely, Allah knows all this and is aware of everything. (31.34)
2] Can it be attributed to anyone else?
    ans: no
3] What is the meaning of this word in its context?
ans: one who has knowledge of unseen

Is it correct to say from the above mentioned verse Allah says He is the all Alimul Ghayb, non Ghayb, ar-Rahman and ar-Raheem hence this is His Sifaat and names of His attributes [Asmaa al Husna]?
    ans: yes (refer question 1)

So my point being, no one can take from His Sifaat and attribute it to any one else, like you can't attribute His name, ar-Rahman, to anyone but Allah? is this understanding correct?
ans: just as u say abdur rahman, u say abdul aleem

Anyway, My point was that some people [Fitna Mongers] do not want to have unity, because they think i am a Kafir [Astagfirullah], they say i degrade Rasulullah , hopefully these are just a minority [i hope so] who have these somewhat ott understanding.
ans: i know about whom ur talking , never bother about them

note: to make it clear al-aleem means all-knowing i.e both the knowledge of unseen and seen come in this, so alim-ul-gayab also comes into al-aleem
