the alim course is 7yrs long, but i heard the first yr is opxnl? is this true? and also, would u recommend som1 to board there or live in an apartment nearby?

As'salaamualaikum,
I am hoping to join Darul Uloom Zakariyya next fall. I was wondering if it's possible to get clothes that adhere to their uniform policies once I get there? Also, I like to practice archery so would it be possible for me to bring my bow?
