Iran police battle Sufi Muslims

Around 180 Sufi Muslims have been arrested in Iran after attacking a Shia mosque where a cleric labelled their religion "illegitimate", say reports.

Never knew shia's didn't like sufis. I guess Iran and Saudi Arabia have something in common: They don't like sufis. Hahah!

Hmm, I remember seeing a website for a shi'i tariqa a while back..


does anyone have any info on them?
like their practices, types of dhikr, if the do hadra, etc..

There do exist some shi'i tariqa's of sufism (ni'matullahi, shahmaqsoudi etc) but Sufism in itself was controversial and still is amongst many of the shi'i ulama. Some of them do not agree with it , and some do. Iran didnt arrest (assuming the story is true) the sufis because they were sufi, but because they attacked a masjed.

yea so do i, this is the reason why so many people are skeptical when it comes to tasawwuf
