washing eyes whilst performing ablution

Assalamoalaikum,

I have heard that 'One must not close one's mouth and eyes tightly. If even a tiny part of the outward part of the lips or the eyelids is left dry, the ablution will not be acceptable.'

what about the people who wear contact lenses permanantly?
Is there any exception for those?
I read myself somewhere that its not compulsory to wash eyes whilst doing ablution.

Plz clarify me on this.

You're right, you don't need to wash inside your eye.

Q. Is it allowed to keep contact lenses in whilst performing Wudu ?

Walaikum assalam,

Contact lenses are worn inside the eye. It is neither obligatory nor recommended to wash inside the eyes in wudu or even in ghusl. [Tahtawi, Hashiyat al-Maraqi]

As such, wearing contact lenses in no way affects the validity of one's wudu.
