Ok i have absolutly zilch understading of shiaism, never could be bothered with it. But tell me one thing. these kohjas, whetehre ismailies or twelvers or aga khanis, are they considered within the fold of Islam? Cos i recently found out a couple of my friendsd (one who ive know for over a year) was a koja shia (although i dunno which type) and all this time i thoguth he was a sunni.

If they are sunni, as some are then, well you know the answer.
If they are 12ers, then the rule for a 12ers applies refer to Shaykh Nuh's (db) answer, in other words they are of course Muslims albeit of the ahle bidah variety.
If they are Aga Khanis aka Ismailis, then by Ijma they are considered outside islam, however someone maybe Ismaili and not necessarily believe in the corrupt stuff, ie they may believe in the fundamentals in Islam only and not things that take one outside the pale of Islam eg beliefs about their leader the Aga Khan, so you can't just give a label across the board, but yes beliefs of Ismailis, ie proper ismailis are against Islam.

Also again I would like to say as I have said elsewhere Khojas aren't a religion or cult of anything like that. They are community of people from an area within Gujrat region of India, some may even still be Hindu.
Eg like Northern Californians, New Yorkers, Londoners etc

    I'm a Sunni Khoja.

All praise is to Allah who showed me the light of Islam and took me away from the darkness and corruption of Nizari Ismailism.

    Jazakallah.
There are Sunni Khojas just as there are Shia Khojas. And there are Sunni Vohras just like there are Shia Vohras (or Bohris). The followers of Agha Khan are called Ismaili or Imami Khojas. It was a small trading community that was handed over as a gift by the Brits to the grandfather of the present Khan to award him for his services to them. His shajarah to the Prophet is fabricated.
