Exclamation Results of three years of teaching Arabic to Western students - Revised format

    Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

In our recently launched full-time class here in Toronto we had a sister who drove 22 hours to study Arabic all the way from Mississippi!

The local weekend Rexdale classes are starting up tomorrow for both brothers and sisters. I will be teaching the first two sessions all myself, insha Allah (similar to what we did at Tooting but much slower, since this is not an intensive demo but the first of many lectures). Registration will remain open till next Sunday, after which no new student will be accepted.

You can check out the new revised structure for the classes by visiting:

nice...unversity format. Most students are probably used to that and will probably feel more comfortable with that format, I think. But of course, the content and books will be all madrasa-style.

    Assalaamua'alaikum wa rahmatullah,

Masha Allah, I like the program breakdown Mufti Yusuf. Look forward to seeing new brothers in tomorrow's class inshaAllah.

Ahsan, try and make it bro. You've done a course and already know the method of instruction so it will be a good review session for the first month or so.

    wassalaam

Will the mods allow me to link to this thread from our main registration page. Instead of replying to each question by e-mail, visitors would quickly get answers to the most commonly asked questions and post any new ones they may have.

So I'll place a link and direct them here for more info. Every day, I'll make a visit or two daily and answer the questions.

Part of the new structured format is to give students a clear idea of the work before each semester. Here is what will be covered in the first three months:

    Wa alaikum salaam,

Yup, we had our launch this weekend... close to forty people showed up this weekend.. and I taught all the introductory material myself, about three hours of lecture on each of the two days. Went very smooth, alhamdulillah.

so who else is teaching with you, as maulana hamza is not here anymore? is it maulana yusuf from malton? maulana omar is i'm sure still there, eh?

plus who's teaching the fulltime? just you? or some more?

how's mohtanick helping out? just as a helper, or is really teaching stuff too?

    mostly, just curious....
