    Default Halal (dhabiha) Khuffs

Does anyone know where one could purchase khuffs made of leather from a halal-slaughtered animal?

My understanding is that most khuffs are made in China, an unlikely source of halal animal products.

Leather is pure, regardless of whether the animal is zabihah or not.

However if you want zabihah leather, then purchase khuffs manufactured in Pakistan.
Even the Indian khuffs should be Zabihah.

Same is true for Shafi'i school.

But note that the leather doesn't become pure until it is tanned (for a non-zabihah animal).

Isn't "leather" generally used for tanned skin?

Is it called leather if it isn't tanned?

I don't think so, but I just wanted to be EXTRA-clear.

I knew that of the Hanafi and Shafi'i madhhabs, however among the preconditions for wiping over leather socks in the Maliki school is:

That it is in itself pure. If it is made from the skin of an animal which died on its own or was not slaughtered properly then it is not valid to wipe over it, even if that skin has been tanned.

JazakAllahu khair Mawlana, I'll direct my efforts accordingly.

Can someone advise if I perform wudhu, then put on regular thin dress socks, and then put on Leather Kuffs, is this valid?

I have seen many tablighees wearing regular socks under the leather socks, and doing masah on the leather.

    Mufti sahab please advise ...

    Yes, it is fine
