Here's some further info about DUZ that a person emailed me:
-The person who cam first in my class out of 55 students was a 15 year old. He knew all his books extreme well. Give him any hadith, and he'll tell you which book it comes in the Siha Sitta. Give him an ayat of the Qur'an and he'll tell you which para, which ruku' and what side of the page it's on within 5 sec. I'm not over exaggerating. He's in second year Iftaa at the moment in Zakariyya.
-Another student in my class was a master in Nawh. Most Ulama have the deception that they know nawh very well, especially if they studied only Hidayat al-Nawh. This particular student's isti'dad in Nawh was so amazing. He would make mutala of the most difficult books in Nawh.
- Another Malaysian student in my class was from the Shafi'i madhhab and had great talent. He knows the hanafi madhhab and the shafi madhab both very well. In examinations, he would break all the hanafi proofs and presents his own Shafi'i proof by narrating from Bayhaqi and other sources. He had memorized Alfiya in Nawh and did al-Balaga al-Wadhiha three times. Very few students I've seen with such capability.
-Last year, a Tunisian graduated which I'm sure no madressa in South Africa has seen such talent in a student. He memorized the whole of Miskhat while he was in the Miskhat year. Then in Daura he memorized the whole of Bhukhari, Muslim, half of Tirmidhi and few other books. He wrote the final year exams in Arabic poetry. Even the teachers were astonished by his abilities. At the moment he is doing first year Iftaa in Zakariyya.
