Default Muhammad Yusuf Ali - May Allah bless Him

ABDULLAH YUSIF ALI is a fantastic Qur'an reciter, he translates Arabic > English perfectly. May Allah bless Him.

I agree. I personally like his translation -- it is more heartfelt than some other English ones. I don't know, I guess its that graceful old English he uses.

There are quiet few errors in his translation of the Quran and he held some beliefs that were not of Ahle Sunnah.

There is a book about him by the Ulema of South Africa which discuss his errors in translation.

In Wikipedia it mentions that Yusuf Ali was a Shia is that true?

I am not sure about the above claim, but in his translation, he did try to please everyone like Qadyanis, Modernist and Shias.

If thats the case then its best to avoid his translation instead of going astray without knowing the rights and wrongs.
