Who is the Mahdi?

Here is Haron Yahya's site on the return of Prophet Esa (SAW) and the emergence of the Mahdi. I'm sure many of you have seen this site before:

The site gives some great evidence, which I believe to be sound, that most, if not all of the signs regarding the coming of the Mahdi have been fulfilled.

But if you read through the site, you get the idea that since the signs have been fulfilled, not only should he already be among us - he should also be fighting at this very moment.

So in that case, who is the Mahdi?

Which may be true, but the fact is, Muslims are supposed to be on top of things such as current events and it is our duty to follow the Mahdi.

The Mahdi will come at a time when things are really bad, the situation for Muslims will be far worse when he arrives...and it is also related that he will come when people will stop believing in him i.e. waiting for him for soo long that they have given hope!

One cannot just sit and wait for him, make your Akhira while your here, pray for his arrival...have sabr...etc.

Mahdi at first will not take his position, but after several attempts from the M'uimns [Masha'iks and the Pious Muslims], he will accept his role as the Caliph.

you should pray for the arrival for the mahdi. most of us wont be able to handle the situation preceeding him. iv heard many scholars warning us about this. times would be so hard for the muslims just before the mahdi comes. we would be butchered like never they would make today situation of the muslim seem like happy days. may allah save us from the fitnah that will arise in the time leadin up to hazrat mahdi
