    i was just wondering if you are suppose to where the niqab/hijab in your back garden coz people can still see u????

    what is the fiqh concerning this?

    LOL...nice question sister.

    I would think if no one is there and if no non mahram can see you then it should be alright insha'Allah, but if others can see you easily then you're better off having it on.

    lol...good question. Well sis how do you know your neighbours aren't twitching their curtains and watching you, as in innocently hang the laundry out like a good gal ? It's better to take precautions.

    If your garden is fully covered and it is absolutely impossible for anyone (e.g. neighbours) to be able to look into your garden, i.e. it is equivalent to a closed room inside your house in the presence of only mehrams, then purdah wouldn't be necessary. However, if there is a possibility (which is probably the likely case), that others will be able to look into your garden, then the ruling would follow the ruling for purdah in front of non-mehrams, i.e. it would be obligatory.

    ...however, if people in the surrounding area (i.e. neighbors) can't get close enough to see the facial features (i.e. if the houses and yards are distanced), then although hijab would be necessary, niqab wouldn't.
