I came across this and subhanAllah its a very powerful video which passes the concept about Hijab really well.

The video has a good theme to it, however (and this is the rough part)...

Is it really a good idea to make videos of non-Mahram Muslimahs and plaster them all over the Internet like this? What about all the lustful looks videos such as these might attract?

Muslim men are supposed to lower their gaze and not see the face of an unveiled women unless (absolutely) necessary or unavoidable. This applies to Muslimahs too, however, the ruling is a bit lenient for them from my understanding. However, such videos do nothing but create the tendency to do exactly that.

On another note, do pious, upright Muslimahs really like them being videod and pictured and then posted all over the Internet like this? Can anybody even imagine what the Prophet's (Sallallahu Alayhi Wassalam)
reaction would be to such things?

Unfortunately, this is a tendency that is quite widespread nowadays (especially in the 'West'). To the extent, that I see photographs of non-Mahram (practicing) females freely posted on some Islamic websites too and I think neither the posters nor the ones in the pictures really care about it.

Exactly! This is very dangerous... I had once mistakenly forwarded the video of a revert muslimah in UK to a friend of mine... after watching the video my friend took to the opposite and started talking rubbish about the muslimah... i repented for doing this again...

I never watch videos (especially on u tube) or even those that are linked in this forum by various SF members.... this video business and the refreshment of faith is very dubious...

Well, here in Pakistan it's rather strange. You will find women/girls wearing for the sake of fashion, or because they think they look good!

You can find them in every colour with many prints. Its' what they call 'style' in want of a better term....

JazakumAllahu Khair for the encouraging comments. At first, I was a bit hesitant in saying what I said but Alhamdulillah I overcame it.

I am also glad that br. Shah Jalal didn't take it as a criticism of himself. I did not mean to criticize you. You had good intentions InshaAllah. It was just the contents of the video that irritated me.

Frankly speaking, I get really upset and hurt when I see such pictures and videos on the Internet. What's more hurtful is that sometimes, these pictures are on Islamic websites too. I remember an instance where pictures of some ISNA conference were made available. There were a number of pictures in these where sisters were present and these were available freely on the Internet...

May Allah make us follow the straight path.

is it ok if they wear niqab? there is one niqabi on youtube who teaches really great and i like to watch her videos. i have to look at the video though because she constantly uses a marker board to write down and speak about it.
