Default Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ibn Baz (Rahimahullah) - On Taraveeh

    Assalaamu Alaikum,

Recently, I was told by some of the brethren, that the Ahlul-khabees(whoever they are), have started spreading false information, about the scholar of SAudia, Sheikh Bin Baz, that he was a "SAlfi"(whatever that means). And we all know, that the ahlul-hadee..., have been fighting in the masajid of the sub-continent especially, about 20 raka'at Taraveeh.

So I found a nice piece of information regaring the Sheikh (Rahimahullah)'s fatwa.Should be enough to.....

I think you mean this one sentence

وإن أوتر بثلاث وعشرين كما فعل ذلك عمر والصحابة رضي الله عنهم في بعض الليالي من رمضان فلا بأس

True, other Kibaar Ulamaa such as Baker Aboo Zayd and others say you can pray 8 or 20. Shaykh' al Albanee said the ahadith of 20 is daeef, that it his opinion, so according to Major scholars 20 is allowed.

Why are we as muslims still arguing over the tarawah salah this is truly embarrasing
other alim have their understanding of how many were performed if other muslims want to perform from the athar from Ayesha (radiallahu anha)) eleven rakah If there is other evidence that support it to be more from the athar from Umar (radiallah anh) thereby just leave it alone and why break each other necks in this matter, people move on!

Concerning the Number of Rak'ahs in Taraaweeh, Part 1

    Taraaweeh, Part 2

    8 or 20 ?

Take your pick, me and my family follow the athar about 11 rakah total, I guess for some it's truly to just leave issues alone
Ibrahim al-Harbi said, ‘I heard Ahmad Ibn Hanbal say, ‘If you love that Allah should keep you upon that which you love, then remain upon that which He loves, and the good is in the one who sees no good in himself.”

The 20 Raka'at Hadeeth may be Dhaeef according to the sanad, but it's saheeh for it has talaqqee bil Qubool, and secondly, it has been a Sunnah of the 3 Khulafa al-Rashideen. So that's Sunnat Mutawatir.

Differences are a mercy but only in the realm of VALID scholarship NOT salafi/wahabi/ahle-hadith (or whatever you call ureselves these days) fitnah.
