Jazzakallah

jazakallah worked for me

As salamu alaikum
I have come across another method which is working very well for me. You may give that a try if you have an iPhone or an Android phone. You can get i-Quran software which allows you to listen to recitation with repetition. So you can set it to repeat next 5 verses or 10 verses or 20 verses etc. It will continue till you change the setting. So once you listen to the exact pronunciation for an hour or two then it will be in your head when you try to recite them yourself. After that when you look at the Quran texts, the recitation will be played back and it is like having a Sheikh whispering (Sheikh Mishary Alafasy in my case) in your ear with the correct pronunciation. When you are reciting a verse, you will InshaAllah start to hear the beginning of the next verse and so on. Moreover Shaikh Mishary's recitation has so much emotion and devotion that it will pierce your heart and make you emotional. So when you recite the Quran yourself think about it and you will have a totally different out of this world experience.
It gives me a chill when I think that Angel Jibrail (PBUH) had recited these same verses to Rasulullah (PBUH)! So what an honor and privilege Allah had given us to be able to recite these verses whenever we wish!
I am not a native Arab and not well versed reading Arabic. So I read the translation from multiple sources (Sahih International, Shakir, Pickthal, Mohsin Khan) and then memorize and recite the Quran the way famous Qaris recite. My favorite is obviously Shaikh Mishary Afasay. His recitation had changed my life.
May Allah reveal the beautify of Quran to all of our heart.
May Allah bless all of us.
