    That's true Alhamdulillah.

Sometimes I think, what amazing Akabireen and scholars Allah Almighty blessed the subcontinent with. Reading their stories is so awesomely inspiring, their knowledge, their piety, their intelligence and then their humility...

What would the world had been without these scholars and their tremendous contributions to Islam and the Muslim Ummah? Pretty empty I would say...

    Wassalam

You could say the subcontinent is the Baghdad of today.
But slowly the age of the subcotinent will come to an end,
so it'll be interesting to see which nation Allah will use next for His Deen.

    W-Salam,

As Rasul-ullah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) has said that Islam will rise from the East (of Madina) so the answers are very clear.

I think its an exageration to call the sub continent the baghdad of today. There are great scholars from there but they are not the only scholars available. Anyway the Hadith says that we should follow the Ulama of Sham and Yemen. I don't know if subcontinent (deoband) was mentioned in the hadith. I am a jahil student of the ulama so please overlook my omissions.

Probably the third generation. You can also add Hadhrat Mawlana 'Abd al-'Ali to the second generation.

    A few relationships:

Hadhrat Mawlana Fadhl al-Rahman 'Uthmani was the father of 'Allamah Shabbir Ahmad ‘Uthmani, Hadhrat Mawlana Habib al-Rahman ‘Uthmani and Mufti Aziz al-Rahman 'Uthmani.

Hadhrat Mawlana Dhu 'l-Fiqar 'Ali Deobandi was the father of Hadhrat Shaykh al-Hind Mawlana Mahmud Hasan Deobandi.

Hadhrat Mawlana Salim Qasmi is the son of Hadhrat Mawlana Qari Muhammad Tayyab sahib

Both Hadhrat Mawlana Shabbir 'Ali Thanawi and 'Allamah Zafar Ahmad 'Uthmani were nephews of Hakim al-Ummat Mawlana Ashraf 'Ali Thanawi. 'Allamah Zafar Ahmad 'Uthmani was also the grandson of Shaykh Nihal Ahmad 'Uthmani.

Mufti Mahmud Ashraf 'Uthmani is the grandson of Hadhrat Mufti Muhammad Shafi' 'Uthmani, and nephew of Hadhrat Mufti Taqi 'Uthmani and Hadhrat Mufti Rafi 'Uthmani.

I don't think it is an exaggeration. I don't know how much you know about the subcontinent but just look at the list. Mujtahids, Fuqahas, Muhaddiths, Mufassirs, Mujahids, Mutakallims, Sufis, Tablighies and revolutionists are all featured and many of them possessed expertise in all of these sciences Not only that but Deobands branches have been spread all over the world and what was produced in the subcontinent is now slowly being replicated elsewhere and this will continue and blossom.

the knowledge of things not known to him"
