New Haven/Hartford CT Muslim community

I will be moving to the new haven/hartford CT area in July, insha'Allah. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the muslim community there. HOw active in the muslim community? Are there any ulama in the area? Which masjid would you suggest attending?

Asslamo Allaikum,

Tanzeem-e-Islami (Dr Israr Ahmed) did a few seminars in that community so do let us know what you find there.

I led taraweeh there many years ago. The New Haven masjid is where brother Zaid Shakir is from. There is also currently a new masjid/madrassah development in the Hamden area. Some people to contact might be brother Dr Abdul Hamid or Brother Tariq who runs this. Madina Masjid in Windsor is also relatively close.
