"Voting" - Question for you???

I would like the brothers on this site to share their views on voting. if it is haram or halal.

If you are in a western country and you don't vote, then it's as much your fault as everyone elses if an anti muslim party/person gets into power. For that reason some ulema say you should participate in elections.

Are you asking regarding Voting in a non muslim state?
or
An Islamic board or institution using voting as a means of electing their leaders?

there is no muslim state anyway, but yeh generally voting for the lib dems or conservatives etc.

i would like your views on this.

i fink ze brother is referring to in da england! we have vote coming up in may in da england! so it maybe haraam aur mayb halaal, i dnt kno! lets ask a scholar! most say its haraam, sum say its allowed! who has the strongest opinion!

Keeping in mind that the scholars from your country should give a Fatwa for the muslims to follow as the sitiations on the ground would differ from country to country.

For example here in South Africa we had to vote in 94 to get the Apartheid government out of Power
