From what little I know, he was a graduate of Nadwa and one of the senior Ulema of India in his time and a contemporary and good friend of Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri Sahib (rahmatullahialay). I think he was a student of Allamah Abdal Hayy Lukhnowi (rahmatullahialay).
