Do you mean 'gasht'? Because tableeg itself is a farz on everyone...

Maybe because the shaykhs don't believe the mureeds will practise before the preach?

It is a practice of many turuq that they do not allow or discourage their mureeds to sit in the company of other Shuyukh. Gathering of every sheikh has a spiritual affect upon an individual. Just like one could get a mixture effect from sitting in majlis of two different shuyukh, TJ works as a spiritual guide as well. Thus it has a certain effect upon an individual as well. those shuyukh whose methods of sulook differ from that of the ones who are of TJ mindset, advise not to go in TJ. It is not against Tableegh .. : )

I think so...as they r against the whole system of tableegh....they dont like their mureeds spending time in jamats.

ähmm i think its akhi individuell story not related with any tareeqas. MAy be that sheikh only says that to his mureed, not every sheikhs said not to go in jamat.

well u might have got it wrong they are also of naqshbandi and qadria too

and what i have seen is sheikh's concentrate only on the haal of eman and when its good they stop from tabligh. where as elders of tabligh say tabligh is actually not only to increase ur iman(though it is acheived) but its duty of everyone till end of life

i know of one sheikh who send his mureed to jamath for 4 months every year, now he is allowed to go only for 40 days
