Imam al-Zarqani said in his book Manahil al-Irfan: 'Our Scholars agreed that if a word carries 99 aspects of disbelief and one aspect of faith, it must be interpreted according to the best of meanings, which is faith'.

Salaam's.
I dont know I think your average Laymen dont care, Personally never heard of Maturidi and Ashari and Athari until I got the Internet.
Still dont see how its really important either.
Silence Is Golden....!
Thank you for your response.
Some `ulema did consider such problems to be serious and important.
The following is an interesting collection of fatawa from major Hanafi, Maliki and Shafi'i shuyukh:

this question is of no benefit, in my opinion
it should not even come up
no one should be undermining anyone, not even Atharis or Salafis
I agree with Br. Julaybib...
oh... guess the whip is out of the question then!

Salaam.
Well one Brother got banned recently for attacking the Ashari Aqeedah.
Besides Scholars may have given rulings the average Layperson takes offence when they feel a emotional connection with the individual Scholar involved whose contributions are attacked.
Everyone knows about the four school of Fiqh and about the Illustrious Imams of each Madhab.
Nothing is known about Ashari/maturidi or Athari.
I think that the main issue the biographies and contributions of these indviduals
to the Deen has not been explained to the Masses.
Silence Is Golden....!

These are not issues that affected the lay people in the past, and they should not be affecting them now.
The problem when some of our scholars get so involved into refuting each other on this and teaching their students these arguments, is that we forget the 95% of the people (in the west) who don't come to the masjid.
It's a non-issue. Congratulations on your 'aqeedah. As long as its within ahl-us-sunnah (thats ALL 3!), lets move forward with bringing our deen into a position where it can save our souls, our families, and our communities.

Salaam'.
Excellent Point, Masha'Allah.
Silence Is Golden....!

So what is the ruling of the Kalami groups on me (non-ashari)?
Can someone sumarise it?
Maybe we can compare note.
Salaam's.
The Ruling of Al Farooq (RA) is..........
Judge Yourselves.
Hazrat Umar Al Farooq(ra). said:
" Judge Yourselves before you yourselves are judged;and weigh yourselves before you yourselves are weighed in the balance. When you are brought to account tomorrow, it will be much easier for you if you have already brought your selves to account today-so do so, before you come to the final gathering "
