    Default Allah speaks to us?

    Salams,

This question may seem a bit strange but I need an informed answer for another and hoping someone here can assist.

The Q - Can Allah speak to us, and in what way? (s)

Should add - this speech does not refer to the Quran - any *other* way or ways, is that possible?

    Allah states:

"It is not given to any human being that Allâh should speak to him unless (it be) by Revelation, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise." (Qur'an 42.51)

The tafsir scholars explain it that it is regarding how Revelation is sent down and that behind a veil could mean for example in a dream, but this may only pertain to a Prophet. We find in the Sahih Hadith that Allah can speak to a non-Prophet but in the state of Al-Barzakh (and Day of Judgment).

As regards to non-Speech that is obvious (eg. that is when we make Dua and it happens etc).

May Allah forgive me for any error and surely The Most High knows best!
Abu Sa’id (ra) said that Rasullilah (salalahi alahi wasalam) said, “Whoever says:

Radeetu billahi rabban, wa bil-Islaami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin rasoolan

Jannah becomes obligatory for him (to enter).

yes Allah speaks to us. He speaks to us through good dreams that have a glad tiding for the believer or a warning of some danger approaching, and such dreams are not just limited to prophets, but it is open to everyone, and it is in this world. Imam Malik reports in his Muwatta:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that his father said about this ayat, "For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present world, and in the Hereafter," (Sura 10 ayat 64), that it was the good dream which the man who was salih saw or which was shown to him (Al-Muwatta 52.5)

For more on dreams one can see Ibn Qayyim's kitab ar ruh which is sufficient regarding this subject.

Also another way Allah speaks to the Person is through hawatif/mukhashafat/ilham which the believer receives in his heart, that comes in the shape of calls, thoughts, and firasah/basirah/images of things, where some matters of the unseen are revealed. For the proof of this it is sufficient to read Imam Abi Dunya's kitab al hawatif, and also you can click to this link:

this is a very beautiful deen, one speaks to Allah through his prayers and supplications, and His rememberance, which is life to the hearts like the water to fish, and our merciful Lord, speaks with us through dreams, sending hawatif/calls in the heart, ilham and mukashafat. sadly the wahhabiyya cant realize this, and their infestion with materialism makes it hard for them to accept/recognize these matters related to spirtual well being, leading them to be dry like deserts,

    Assalamualaikum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakaatu,

I just wanted to add to what Brother Fahid said about non-speech. Allah Ta'allah replies to the first four verses of Surah Al-Fatiha in our prayer by saying: Hamadani A'bdi, Majadani A'bdi, Hadhaa Baina Wa Baina A'bdi etc.

Please forgive my transliteration as I am not so profficient in it

I can't remember the exact "replies" but I know it is along these lines. May Allah forgive any of my errors as He the Exalted is the only Perfect Being.

    Wasalaam

are you the brother muawiyah from ummah and the old RI (and its earlier versions) forums?
    Wa3alikumusalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

yes dear brother, that is me. It has been almost a year ever since i have left modern salafism/wahhabiyya completely after deeply knowing/encountering all of its current branches( saudis/madkhalis, surrorris, ikhwanis, pseudo jihadists, pseudo hakimiyya callers) throughout the past 9 years almost .

I made a very thorough research the past two-three years about the proofs/daleels of their beliefs, the evidences of their creed, their positions on different subjects etc., about their history and past, I studied ibn taimiyyah, and I made a research of the Ashari and traditional tasawuff as well, and Allah(swt) out of His bounty, had shown me where the truth is. I found how lacking/weak/erroneous and full of holes wahhabism is in general, in its doctrines, conclusions and practices, how much of a bigot I was, how much misinformed I was about Allah and His attributes, about the essence of the Prophet(saws)'s message, about the spiritual domain of this deen, about the historical developement of these wahhabis, and how far away this so-called salafiyya is from the true salaf and hadeeth of the Prophet(saws).

After my research, I gave up,alhamdulliah, my mujassim beliefs of thinking Allah's essence to be on the thorne or that He being in the sky-na3oudubillah, or that He having a limit that only He knows-astaghfirulla, of giving meanings to His attributes, resembling to the creation, without being satisfied with tafweed, in regarding tawasul to be haram/shirk, and in wrongly spliting tawheed into three ( ruboobiyya, ilohiyya and asma was sifat) and disconnecting each three from the other rending to wrong understanding of uboodiyya/worship of Allah.

I have abandoned ill judging other muslims and making takfeer of them, adopting unwanted self righteous harshness/arrogance on others thinking myself to be of "saved sect", of thinking good bid3a as bad, of seeing it okay in islam to kill the innocents, the women and children, of falsely labelling noble people of the past as pantheists, grave worshippers, of applying verses of the Quran meant for the kaffirun to the Muslims, and of being critical of following the schools of thought.

I have left the khawarij for the real ahlus sunnah, the siwad al a3dham of this Prophet(saws) ummah, the Ashariyya and Maturidiyyah, and Alhamdulliah Allah has opened my heart to tasawuff. I have seen how beautiful is the true/traditional Islam that goes back with unbroken chain to the Prophet(saws), and how much full of glow, tranquility it is, owing to its good fruits. I felt as if im born again with a new ray of hope, and that I was dead before and now alive again. Until yesterday my library was filled with books of ibn taimiyyah, ibn abdel wahhab, bin baz, ibn othaimeen, sayid qutub etc., and today they have been replaced with those of Ibn Abi dunya, al-baihaqi, qadhi ibn al arabi, imam al ghazali, qadhi iyyad, ibn ataillah, Imam alQurtubi and shaykh muhammad al-alawi.

The wahhabi da3wah is dying, there are many salafis alhamdulliah embracing the true way of ahlus sunnah after seeing the rotten fruits of this cult
I pray that may Allah guide all the other salafis/wahhabis in realizing the truth, and may Allah bless all the ummah of the Prophet(saws) and elevate them. Ameen

    Dear Sister, Assalaamoalaikum

I fully agree with what Brother Murabit has posted at post #3 above.

The best way to have an answer that you could trust is through personal experience. Have a strong faith, try to obey Allah(SWT) as far as one can, have love for His Messenger(SAW), all actions to be done for Allah's (SWT) pleasure - the sms will, Insh'Allah, start to come.

    Brotherly yours
