Default Bay'at of husband and wife

I was recently asked if it would cause a problem if a couple were married whilst having bay'at with a different sheikh each... apparently, the questioner said it would.
Any answers on if it would, and if yes, why?

How and why would it cause a problem?

Do people think that they will be left (at ease) only on their saying, “We believe” and will not be put to any test?

If it was a different shaykh but part of the same silsila, then I shouldn't think it'd be a problem.

On the other hand, if the silsila was different, then it may, and I stress may, cause some differences in opinion.

I don't think it should cause any problems unless one of them is a murid of a shaykh (or a tariqa) which looks down upon other tariqas or if the shaykh controls the murids tightly. I think both of these issue aren't hard to come across these days. I don't mean to discourage anyone, it's just something I've noticed, especially when the shaykh or the tariqa becomes the goal and people start thinking that those without a shaykh or tariqa are worse off than those with.

I concur with you sunnilink. I have heard this my self that "jis ka koi peer nahi, os ka peer shaitaan hein". That person who has no Shaykh, has Satan as his Shaykh.

Possibly because of the reason stated by sunnilink.

These issues are becoming exaggerated... its starting to become like the madhab situation, where having a different imam each could cause a problem.
