Default Politics in the Islamic world

    salamo aleykoom
haha I'm on speed with questions now

well here is one question again.
I'm currently studying dutch law and next year inshallah want to combine it with political science, and specializing in international affairs. I was more hoping on participating in politics in the islamic world,to try and bring some changes.

well this is the part where I'm troubled...two broters, one whom he is a "salafi" said that is harram, because you're participating in a secular systeem rather than upon the sharia of allah,so I responded that I want to participate and step by step if Allah is mercifull,to bring back the sharia eventually.but he didn't agree and said it's haraam. now I talk to a brother who's a hizbi( hizb tahrir) and he said that I can't participate in a kufr systeem and the only way is first to bring back the khilafa by their methodes( militairy coup eventyally).
normally I'm stubborn and do what my sence of morality and justice tell, that is to participate and make changes for the better of moslims and islam. but I also realize that this is nog childsplay and I have to be really carefull.

can someone please inlighten me with some information whether I can participate or not and why.

    ma3a salama

    Asalaamualaykum.

My queston to the salaafi'ite and the hizbutist is ! What are you doing living in a secularist society? If living in a secularist society is not participation in secularism then what is?

If these people hate secularism so much then why live in a secularist soceity in the 1st place?

I suggest you follow your heart and do your best with a big bismillah.

    ma salaama

they will probably say that they don't agree with them and that the land is of allah blablabla.

I always did what my heart and mind told me,but this is a delicate situation and don't want to make any grave mistakes.
once again,I want to participate in the islamic world,in politics not here.

I'm sure when you said that you'd like to participate in politics that means parliamentary politics right? The European Council for Fatwa and Research made a judgment on this a few years ago and I think that in general they said it was something allowable but if you want to get involved as a candidate then of course you will come across specific problems that can't be addressed by a general fatwa.
